ZETA TAU ALPHA

As a former member of Zeta Tau Alpha (ZTA) Alpha Xi chapter at Indiana University, I was, and still am extremely dedicated to fundraising for our philanthropic cause of breast cancer education and research. I pride myself on being one of the top individual fundraisers in ZTA, and as a result of this, have also found myself taking on leadership roles to encourage others to do the same. Our philanthropy efforts have grown from raising $81,893.16 in my first year (COVID-19 hindered our fundraising capabilities) to an outstanding $183,475 in the most recent year, solidifying our position as the number one fundraising sorority in the country.

In my role as assistant to the historian, I took on the responsibility of managing various media outlets, including the creation of graphics and the collection of member quotes for impactful social media posts. I independently established and managed our TikTok account and film Instagram account, implementing a consistent posting schedule. This involved photographing all members for the film account, as well as filming and editing original and trending videos for the TikTok platform. Through these efforts, I not only contributed to our online presence but also elevated our sorority's visibility and engagement, especially around recruitment season.

I was also the media committee head for our annual fundraising event, Big Man On Campus (BMOC), which is an all-male talent show where we announce the total amount raised in the year. In this role, I was tasked with creating compelling videos to support our fundraising endeavors. I crafted two impactful videos—one highlighting the significance of our cause through survivor stories, and another summarizing our successful fundraising efforts. These videos were strategically designed to captivate the audience's attention, evoke empathy, and inspire them to contribute to our philanthropic goals.

In addition to my media responsibilities, in my senior year, I took on the role of morale committee head. This included overseeing the coordination of practices for approximately 120 participants in our senior dance, performed at BMOC. I choreographed the dance, organized practice schedules, ensured performers were informed of important dates, and conducted rehearsals. Moreover, I took center stage as an emcee during the sold-out event, contributing to the overall success of the show and reinforcing our sorority's positive impact within the community.

Through these diverse roles and accomplishments, I have not only showcased my dedication to our philanthropic cause, but also demonstrated my ability to lead, create compelling content, and organize large-scale events. These experiences underscore my commitment to excellence and my capacity to contribute significantly to any project or initiative.
