COLLEGE COURSE WORK

My coursework, including PR Campaigns, PR Writing, and PR Planning and Research, along with foundational classes at the Kelly School of Business and during my time studying in Spain, have prepared me for real-world work. These courses developed my project management, leadership, strategic planning, and communication skills. Business classes covered essential concepts like Excel, legal knowledge, and economics. Social media, ethics, and journalism courses provided insights into digital communication and ethical considerations. Overall, this diverse curriculum has given me a well-rounded background in business, readying me for the complexities of PR, social media, and journalism in professional settings.

INDIANA DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH PR CAMPAIGN

In my PR campaigns class, I played a pivotal role in developing a comprehensive PR campaign aimed at increasing infant vaccination rates among Hoosiers in Indiana. Leading a team of six fellow students, our campaign was meticulously planned and included a thorough situational analysis, extensive research involving feedback from over 50 residents in Indiana, as well as both quantitative and qualitative research elements. The campaign spanned a year and featured five overarching strategies, each supported by 4-8 tactics. Additionally, we crafted a detailed budget to ensure the feasibility of our proposed initiatives.

One of the key challenges in this project was the real-world pitch competition, where my team and I had the opportunity to present our ideas in person to the client. The stakes were high as we were competing against two other teams. As the leader of the group, I took charge of creating all the necessary mockups and spearheaded most of the social media campaigns. This not only required a keen understanding of effective design and communication strategies but also demanded strategic thinking to ensure our social media presence aligned with the overall campaign objectives.

Beyond my specific tasks, I played a crucial role as a team leader, navigating through challenging dynamics within the group and addressing complex situations that arose during the project. This experience not only honed my project management and leadership skills but also provided valuable insights into the intricacies of working in a team environment, especially when dealing with diverse perspectives and opinions. Ultimately, our efforts were rewarded with success as we emerged victorious in the competition, showcasing the effectiveness of our carefully crafted PR campaign to the client.

PR CAMPAIGN FOR THE RAPE, ABUSE, & INCEST NATIONAL NETWORK (RAINN)

In my PR for Non-profits course, I created a transformative public relations campaign for the non-profit organization RAINN (Rape, Abuse & Incest National Network). Working alone, my mission was to formulate a comprehensive campaign plan to raise awareness about RAINN's vital services and ultimately increase support and healing for survivors of sexual violence. The project involved an extensive situational analysis, research involving interviews with survivors, both quantitative and qualitative methodologies, and the development of five strategic approaches to be implemented over the course of six months.

I created many visual mockups, shaping the identity of the campaign. Additionally, I orchestrated the social media campaigns, employing various platforms to effectively disseminate our message and engage with our target audience.

On a personal note, this project held a profound significance for me, as I have a personal tie to RAINN. The cause resonated deeply, and the experience was not just an academic exercise but a meaningful contribution to a cause I am passionate about. As a testament to my commitment, I am excited to explore opportunities for my business, IAMHER, to partner with RAINN in the future. Aligning my personal and professional endeavors, I aim to leverage my skills and resources to further support RAINN's mission and contribute to the vital work they do in aiding survivors of sexual violence.
